The second IRREVERENTE - International Impro Festival of Lisbon will be held from July 26 to 29, 2023, in person in the city of Lisbon, Portugal.

 

We will be accepting by FORM proposals for Shows to be performed during the Festival from February 1st until 18:00 (Lisbon time) on the 28th of February 2023.

 

It should be noted that IRREVERENTE 2023 continues to be produced independently, without financial support. We know that conditions are not ideal or the most favorable and we greatly value the work of professionals in our field, while we are aware of and respect our production limits, always trying to do our best.

 

In this sense, we have listed below the conditions that we can offer as well as what we expect from your show:

 

a) Shows that have improvisation as the language for conducting the performance of the show;

 

b) Each person/group can apply with the maximum of 3 shows in total.

 

c) We provide space of up to a maximum of 30 minutes of performance for your show at the Festival Theater.

- There will be 5 minutes available immediately before the presentation for setting up the sets: we will provide a team for setting up the set. This time is not included in the presentation and cannot be added to it, even if the show does not have a set.

- There will be 4 shows per night at the festival, so the maximum performance time must be respected and we reserve the right to end the performance if it exceeds the stipulated time in order not to jeopardize the next show or the agreement of schedule with the Theater venue. We are artists and kind people, if necessary, the closure will be done in the same way.

 

d) A basic and standard light will be provided for all shows with some possibilities of play.

- If there is any specificity for your show, we will do our best to provide it, but we ask for acknowledge and understanding of our limitations.

- We will have a person from our team available to operate/improvise your light, if there is no one from your team to do so.

- On the day of your show, 30 minutes will be scheduled for rehearsals on the stage. The schedule will depend on the availability of the Theater.

 

e) The Festival will bring an international audience to Lisbon, so we prioritize shows in English, Portuguese, gibbrish/gramelot or without words. Still, other languages ​​are also welcome, depending on the proposal.

- The submission video can be in Portuguese or English. If it is in another language, it must be subtitled in Portuguese or English.

 

f) We gladly accept and receive performances that may debut at the Festival. For these cases, we accept the submission of a video of the rehearsal of the show in which it is possible to see the structure/format of the show to be performed.

 

g) Artists who will perform at the Festival with the selected show will receive the EARLY BIRDS Package free of charge, which guarantees them:

- discounts at Festival partner food establishments;

- discount on registrations in workshops as students;

- tickets for all show nights;

- entrance to all fraternization activities.

 

h) Unfortunately, so far we do not have the financial resources to pay for show’s performances, transport to the Festival, accommodation and food for the participating groups and artists. We only have the discounts for the aforementioned EARLY BIRDS packages, so groups and artists must bear their own expenses.

We are still negotiating with business companies for sponsorship and support, so if the situation changes in favor of paying for any of these issues, we will inform you of the new conditions.

Tickets will be charged for the audience of the shows, but the money tickets cannot be reverted to participating groups and artists, due to the remaining expenses of the festival.

 

i) The theme of IRREVERENTE 2023 is SPACE. This theme is a guideline open to different interpretations. We value that your show is somehow related to the theme, but this relationship is not a priority or selection criteria.

 

j) All people involved and participants will be aware of and in accordance with the Festival Code of Conduct.
